Costuming

Image
Costuming The mean girl main character of Priscilla Humphrey will be filmed in the attire of a pink polyester long-sleeved shirt, baggy blue jeans, and black-and-white Panda Dunk sneakers. Lyra Stone will be filmed in the attire of a baggy green zip-up jacket with blue jeans and a pair of gray sneakers. Considering that Priscilla will wearing a pink top and Lyra will be wearing the attire of a green top. Thus, I have tried to portray them wearing opposite colors to show the contrast in their personalities. Priscilla Humphrey will be wearing lots of makeup products. These include black mascara, pink lip gloss, bronzer, foundation, highlighter, and blush. Lyra Stone, on the other hand, will be filmed wearing a lack of makeup. This difference in the characters' makeup habits is meant to further highlight Priscilla's vanity as opposed to Lyra's humility and lack of obsession with her physical appearance. Priscilla will always be wearing her long locks out to show off her gorg...

Lyra Stone will be filmed wearing a baggy green zip-up jacket with blue jeans and gray sneakers. With Priscilla wearing a pink top and Lyra wearing a green top, I have tried to portray them wearing opposite colors to show how different their personalities are. Moodboard for Opening Sequence

Image
Mood Board for Opening Sequence For our movie's opening sequence, we are using high-key lighting, as the setting is a high school in the middle of the school day, as shown by the mood board above. In my mood board, I am trying to capture the essence of the clip's 2 main characters' personalities. Priscilla Humphrey, the girl on the left, is shown to be wearing makeup and a fashionable outfit, which is meant to show off her affluence and the vanity of her personality. The image I found of Priscilla was actually inspired by an image of Gretchen Wieners from Mean Girls . This means with Priscilla's character, I am trying to portray a typical high school bully/mean girl. She is very much entitled and believes she will undoubtedly get into Harvard University, so her prop will be an opened computer in a high school library as she checks her Harvard decision, expecting an acceptance letter to be at her fingertips. The other main character, Lyra Stone, who is pictured on the ...

View Other Student Work Blogpost     1. I really liked this film opening of Video 1, "Dare to Thrill". This is because I enjoyed the detail at the beginning of the film where the title, "Steal the key to a Man's Heart" is in a green tech-themed font, as I feel it nicely compliments the music accompanying it and gives the film a technological vibe. The aesthetic of the teenage friend group running in the street at night was very appealing to me, and the lowkey lighting certainly added to that affect . At timestamp 0:16, an establishing shot of the clip's setting, which is a street late at night with a stairwell and a store named Burlington is displayed to the audience. This is meant to provide information about the characters' personalities, such as that they are rebellious for going out past sunset and a bit reckless, as it could be dangerous to go out at night due to factors like increased risk of falling victim to crimes. For elements of mis en s...
