Editing 2

Image
Editing 2 This week during editing, Ariba continued to work on transitions between scenes. She ensured the scenes meshed together to the best of her ability. She used cut transitions, fade-ins, and fade-outs. The main problem she encountered during editing was that there weren't enough clips of filler scenes to smoothly transition between the main scenes. The solution to this problem would be to get together with her group and film a few more clips. The amount of time she spent editing was around 3-4 hours. Other than that, not much has changed. It's the same person involved in editing, the same fonts, and the same audio effects.

Editing 1

Editing 1 Our editor, Ariba Khan, checked out fonts used on posters of other movies about school and hardworking students and took inspiration from those. Ariba decided on a few blockier, all capital letter fonts, such the font on the posters for Legally Blonde . Ariba used audio effects that would interest the viewer in the setting. For example, she added background sounds of people talking to mimic students talking in hallways. She also used an effect to remove other background noise from the clips. She will also be adding music or another ongoing audio in the background to avoid the scenes being silent. Aside from the typical problems that somebody would face when using a new program, Ariba found it hard to edit using the touchpad on her laptop. To solve this issue, she simply switched to editing on a computer, which she found much easier to use, particularly the mouse. She also had problems getting started. Ariba had a vision and a draft of what the clip would look like, but ...

Beginning to Film

Image
Beginning to Film My group (Michelle Nguyen, Talia Tenenbaum, Ariba Khan, and I) have begun our process of filming. This took a lot of brainstorming on each of our parts. For example, Talia Tenenbaum, our camerawoman, was trying to prevent her phone (our filming device) from shaking in her hands and trying to find a quiet place to film. Attached is a picture of Talia holding her phone to record my character's, Priscilla Humphrey's scene in the school bathroom.

Challenges in Film/Filming Process

Challenges in Film/Filming Process Our group has faced a variety of challenges in filming. On my end as the actress for mean-girl Priscilla Humphrey, I sometimes struggled with acting "natural". Some things I struggled with was looking at the camera while being filmed by our camerawoman (Talia Tenenbaum), memorizing my lines, not laughing when saying my lines or doing gestures such as blowing kiss faces into the mirror, and doing actions like taking out my school's computer on cue (a prop). Some challenges Michelle Nguyen (the actress for the humble and meek Lyra Stone) was memorizing her lines and being expressive. Some challenges Talia Tenenbaum faced as our camerawoman were trying to find a quiet place to film and trying to prevent her phone, the tool she filmed with, from shaking.  Everyone in my group is pulling their weight, as we allocated our tasks evenly, and we keep up communication when a group member isn't at school so they can adequately work from home....
