 Editing 1

Our editor, Ariba Khan, checked out fonts used on posters of other movies about school and hardworking students and took inspiration from those. Ariba decided on a few blockier, all capital letter fonts, such the font on the posters for Legally Blonde.

Ariba used audio effects that would interest the viewer in the setting. For example, she added background sounds of people talking to mimic students talking in hallways. She also used an effect to remove other background noise from the clips. She will also be adding music or another ongoing audio in the background to avoid the scenes being silent.

Aside from the typical problems that somebody would face when using a new program, Ariba found it hard to edit using the touchpad on her laptop. To solve this issue, she simply switched to editing on a computer, which she found much easier to use, particularly the mouse. She also had problems getting started. Ariba had a vision and a draft of what the clip would look like, but she found it difficult to get started.

On the first draft, Ariba had spent about 6 hours in total. Ariba thinks it took that long because she was still getting used to the editing program and hadn't mastered it.

The main group member who is editing currently is Ariba. As we progress with this project, our group member Talia Tenenbaum will also be editing.

Additional filming will be completed for transition clips that will go in between the main scenes.
