Sample Exam Question B

Sample Exam Question B Over the years, new technologies have caused many changes to society. For example, the rise of technology has created several new jobs. This has caused significant economic development. In the film world, many believe that new technologies have made audiences more complex and unpredictable. I agree with this statement. Due to the rise of technology and all the new features available in film, I believe audiences have higher expectations of movies nowadays than in earlier decades. According to the case study:  Case Study for Question 2 Media Studies.pdf , the Walt Disney Company was founded on October 16, 1923. The first movie ever made and released by the Walt Disney Company was the animated film, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", on December 21, 1937. This film was considered groundbreaking and ahead of its time due to it being in full color due to the technology, Technicolor ( Snow White becomes highest-grossing animated film of all time during this...

Title Sequence Blogpost

Title Sequence Blogpost   1. T itle of my group's film: "The Ivy Chase". We decided on the title "The Ivy Chase" because our final idea was to make our storyline about two girls who want to attend the Ivy League University Harvard, and we wanted to reflect this in our title.  2. Studio or Distribution Company Presents: "Cloudyday Films" Presents. The title was Michelle's idea, and we as a group all loved it. The title came about because as we as a group were brainstorming title ideas, Michelle thought of a cloud to fit the brainstorming analogy, hence the name Cloudyday Filsm. 3. Production Company: A "Chalkstick Pictures". The production company's name was also Michelle's idea, and we as a group all loved it. This production company name came about because Michelle wanted the production company's title to be something related to school, and chalksticks are an item often located in school settings. 4. Production Actors/ Starri...

Evaluation of Peer Reviews

Evaluation of Peer Reviews 1.  The Ivy Chase           https://youtu.be/mjYc0V77OLQ?si=hncRWpWPQM_FrDY7 What specific technical elements of the film opening did you like?* I saw a couple elements including a two shot and inserts. These helped the adhear to the overall meaning of the film. By using a two person shot, it allowed the audience to see the body language being interchanged by both of the characters in the scene simultaneously. Similarly, the inserts like the close up of Michelle typing on the keyboard and the search bar helped guide the viewers eyes towards what needed attention. What specific technical elements of the film opening did you dislike?* For this specific film, I wouldn’t say that there were any technical elements that I disliked.  Did this look like a movie opener and did it make you want to know what happens next?    For this clip, I would say that it did look like a movie opener due to the t...

Peer Reviews of First Cut Movie Opener

Peer Reviews of First Cut Movie Opener  1.  First Cut- Betrayed Shadows For this film, I felt like the acting was very good and that I greatly appreciated the camerawork. I felt there was a wide variety of shots from close up shots to establishing shots, which really helped me get to know the characters and the setting. It did seem like a true movie opener and made me want to know what happened next as in this film, a hooded male suddenly grabs a female and then the camera shakes before the film's end. I would want to know if he is able to successfully kidnap her or if she can defend herself from him. A critique I have is that I had difficulty hearing due to the background noise in the outdoor area they were filming.  2.  The Entity After Hours (Media Studies First Cut) For this film, I really appreciated the changes in settings which showed the characters' dedication to helping Maya fix her own grades via dishonest means. I also appreciated the suspense of onc...

Editing 2

Image
Editing 2 This week during editing, Ariba continued to work on transitions between scenes. She ensured the scenes meshed together to the best of her ability. She used cut transitions, fade-ins, and fade-outs. The main problem she encountered during editing was that there weren't enough clips of filler scenes to smoothly transition between the main scenes. The solution to this problem would be to get together with her group and film a few more clips. The amount of time she spent editing was around 3-4 hours. Other than that, not much has changed. It's the same person involved in editing, the same fonts, and the same audio effects.
